Yesterday I made, um...asked the boys to mulch our front garden bed where we had just moved some hostas that were getting too much sun elsewhere. They managed to do such a half-assed job and infuriate me so much that I ended up yelling at them in the front yard during a quiet Sunday morning. The neighbors must have loved that.
I stormed inside and started peeling chickpeas. I know. Owen said he'd like hummus better if it were creamier and supposedly if you peel the fucking chickpeas it is creamer. So I sat there seething and peeling chickpeas. One of those 'did you ever think' moments.
All was extremely quiet outside and eventually Ernie came in and said they were done and to go look at it. I went out and told them it looked great, apologized for losing my temper and kissed them. Later I asked Ernie what he'd said to them and he said nothing.
Overall a relatively crappy weekend but in the scheme of things of course it was completely fine. I find that feeling like a human paper cut makes one more susceptible to more paper cuts so I am trying. TRYING I tell you.
As the week starts out anew I find the most uplifting thing I have to share with you is a recent email I received. Because we do our house concerts we receive many email from artists or booking people, etc. Generally they are somewhat relevant to what we do. The subject line of today's email however was "Micro Wrestling in Champaign, IL." It went on to state:
Hi! I wanted to know if you have given any thought to bringing in the Micro Wrestling Federation (MWF)?
MWF has been providing sports entertainment nationwide for the last ten years. Our show is a full-scale WWE type event with an all little person cast. Our event showcases both the athletic skills and entertainment value of our performers.
MWF has been featured on Fox Television's "Bones", TruTV's "Full Throttle", Animal Planet's "Fir Boss" and Country Music Television's "Strangest Ways to Make a Buck". We are also in the developmental stage of our own reality series.
The event includes:
4 matches (2 hours) Entire crew will stay a minimum of 4 hours to encourage your patrons to stay, spend money during the meet & greet, as well as after party festivities.
4 Ring Announcer
12 x 12 professional wrestling ring
Promo materials (11 x 17 posters, 8x11 fliers, event tickets, and a 30 second radio spot) All show music and cordless mic
And there you have it. O.k., let's see how this week goes. Right now I am sipping lemonade instead of my coffeemilk because I'm on a clear liquid diet to prepare for a god damn (sorry Debbie) colonoscopy tomorrow afternoon.
In other news Rascal is getting much bigger....still a little black smudge in pictures....
