Thank God there were snowflakes as they cheered me up on a morning that was otherwise not particularly wonderful. It turns out those gorgeous and delicious shiitake mushrooms I ate were high fodmap so my stomach is a bit put out with me. Therefore I canceled my brunch plans with my friend Boo, strike two, and I have to do some work which is stressing me out, strike three. However, that was all topped by having to give our cat Hattie a bath because she had a big clump of hardened poop completely tangled in her fur. I held her down in the sink, Ernie clipped carefully, and I gagged and gagged. We got her wrapped up in a towel and I held her until she started purring a little bit. I fear there's probably a vet visit in her future.
Now I just can't get the smell out of my nose.
I'm sure you're glad I shared that delightful image with you.
Damn I keep washing my hand but I swear they still smell.
I'm going to go wash them again.
Ok. I washed them again. Ernie has incense going and I have some spices simmering on the stove. We were going to do some cooking but I think we need to take a break before we can deal with food.
In better news, here's out poster for the Christmas Open House with the Taxi Boys!
Instead of the usual potluck we do, I thought we'd just have appetizers and sweets. I am, of course, happily obsessing over what appetizers to make. Evidently Owen asked Ernie what food we were going to have, as he tromped in the house yesterday yelling, "MOM, if there are going to be kids there, you CAN NOT serve things like salmon on cucumbers! We need stuff like PIZZA!" I snickered but I couldn't really argue. Ok, we'll have pizza too.
Now I'm off to experiment with gluten free cheese wafers. I think the stink has faded enough to deal with food....
