Yesterday I went home and sat in the front yard, reading, while Ernie and Owen went for a walk and Leo computered with friends. It felt glorious. The blondes came back and sat with me outside. Owen is quite pleased with his new shoes.
Even though I had a nice dinner bobbing around in my head, the evening wore on in a lazy fashion and we ended up ordering pizza and sitting and watching Freaks and Geeks. Eventually I went up stairs and read in the lovely cool air until I was sleepy. Perfect.
We're feeling the ease of high summer. I try not to look at the calendar because too soon things like 'high school registration' and 'middle school registration' are marked on there. Right now we are glorying in all the green and I'm getting ready to take a week off work. I want to go to the Farmers' Market on Saturday but we are weighed down with vegetables from Sola Gratia as well as our own garden. But corn....hmmmm...we haven't had local corn yet.....
In other notes, our beloved Michael Hansen posted this picture of Fats, Kristi Rose and us from last week. How delightful to have....thanks Michael!!!
Next up at our place will be Irene Kelley. Nothing's happening in July because of scheduling but we are looking forward to a wonderful late summer show on Friday, August 15....it's going to be wonderful! Put it on your calendars folks! I'm kinda thinking we'll do SaladFest 2.0 because I'm thinking panzanella would be perfect for the middle of August. Whaddya think?
