How on earth DOES it come around so quickly? Monday again. It was a fairly quiet weekend, did a good bit of work from home, bought a few plants, watched Owen dig out a humongous overgrown ornamental grass. That's about it. I'm feeling a bit better so am sticking to the low FODMAP diet. Normally I find it hard to stick to any kind of diet but this isn't hard because I feel so lousy. I'll take the little bit of improvement though, and be happy about it. I have some tests later in the week but don't expect them to really change things. We shall see. More tests later in the month.
Ernie and Owen go see Tom Petty this week (the tickets were a Christmas present for Owen) and then on the weekend we see Ian Hunter at Park West with Owen. I'm excited, of course, and assume Owen will make me forget all about any wretched stomach issues. I mean hell, that guy's got the power.
Speaking of the Ian power....yesterday morning, in an attempt to delay the work I needed to do, I finally watched the entire Ian Hunter/Joe Elliott interview. I wish Joe had let Ian do a bit more of the talking but I enjoyed it despite that, and you can tell there is a true friendship and affection between them. I like it at about the 40:00 mark when Joe Elliott asks Ian if he's going to tour on the new album, and he shrugs, and says something to the effect of, "What else am I gonna do? It hit me when I was 15. I loved it, I worshiped it. It's a passion."
Yup.
As I sat, curled up in my red chair, with the laptop, Annie came over and just started batting at the screen where Ian was. I SWEAR I did not make her do this and she's never done it before.
That Ian.
In other compelling cat news, here is the line for the bedroom window the other morning. Bob held his own for awhile but Rascal eventually intimidated him into leaving. Poor Bob.
And on a last random note, I really need to get back to starting my flowers from seed...it's gets so expensive at the nursery. I tried to get cheap four packs of annuals like alyssum and parsley to fill in with the more expensive plants for the window boxes. I stood in line at Prairie Gardens yesterday and my mind just boggled at the amount they must take in on a weekend like this....people just spending hundreds of dollars at a pop. Of course my dribs and drabs add up...hoping to get some plants I ordered in the next few days!
Onward.
