1. One of my favorite things that happened at our house concert, was the gift of these mugs. I think you can figure out which ones I mean. My beloved Ben Stuparits made them. I told him and Karen that we would have a naming competition for them, however I'm afraid I waited too long and they are already known as Ben and Karen (Karen is, of course, the smaller one). I love you guys!!
Oh, and that's WEAR on the shelf, not dirt!
2. Speaking of beloved, only Jason Ringenberg would show up with the best eggs on the planet from his hens, and organic tomatoes that he grew, and then insist on slicing them up himself. I love that man so much.
3. Heather gifted me with a bunch of little sweet peppers, and YES, I did let some go bad, but I actually (um, read Ernie) have sliced the rest up for freezing.
4. And last but not least, I have a new obsession, and you KNOW how happy that makes me. I'm trying to get away from using plastic containers for storage. I'd aked for recommendations and almost hit the order button online for some new glass containers, when Ernie dragged me out to that antique shop near the Savoy Wal-Mart. Lo and behold, we found a little set of old glass Pyrex refrigerator containers with glass lids. They were cheap and I was tickled. In true Polly Voelkl fashion, I went home and obsessively looked up information, decided on what to specialize in (only solid colors), and contemplated the thrill of something new to collect. Within the next few days we hit other antique/second hand stores and our lot is up to about 8. I really don't need more for the refrigerator, but we shall see.
Onward.
