1. I feel so dull of late. We did see some friends this weekend so that helped---it was lovely...but I want MORE! It's not just the lack of socialization or the lack of house concerts (sniff, sniff) it's the lack of looking FORWARD to those things. I don't just miss the house concerts, I miss curling up with the laptop and looking at recipes. It's not just missing live music, it's missing the joy of anticipation. It all makes me feel incredibly dull. I am trying though.
2. Hattie has adopted the pod (cat bed) that Annie loved in her last days. I would have sworn up and down that we had returned it to Heather and Steve but Owen announced that we hadn't (sorry guys) and it was in the basement. She loves it and the other cats give it a wide berth. We've also given up on catfood and just buy canned salmon for her. Of course, the other guys get some too. Our cats are not svelte, well, except Hattie. Her fur is growing back a bit from where we had to have her shaved and she feels better without all those knots. And I must say the days I actually get the laxative in her without her managing to spit it all back out are glorious. I've rarely been so proud of an accomplishment. As I've said before and will say again, aging is not for the weak.
3. Bob has to lay claim to Ernie sometimes, just in case anyone might get any ideas of Ernie not belonging to him.
4. Made an ersatz arroz con pollo. It turned out ok, but not as good as I thought it was going to be. It bears tinkering though, it bears tinkering.
5. Some nights a batch of low FODMAP guacamole makes the perfect dinner. I didn't have lime but lemon worked.
